Barletta’s News

1994

Barletta’s News, Pittsburgh, PA, 1994

Installed as part of Community+Art = Adopting Aliquippa. Barletta’s News was a site-specific, community-based audio installation in abandoned building. The oral history of Bill Barletta emanated from the red, white and blue building. Barletta, a blind man, ran a newsstand, tobacco shop for twenty years at the entrance to a local steel mill. He contributed a wealth of historic and poetic information.
